Kneesocks Created: 05/11 Worn: OtaFest 2011 Photo by: corrupteddata - DURRRRRR Wasn't wearing my Kneesocks glasses for these photos (I thought I was, fuck skdfgdkdhglire;jghshkfgrfer) so I'm hoping to get some more shots at CCEE.
I love it! The paint and suit blend very nicely together. While some very minor seems are visible, I think a bodysuit still is a better option than full body paint, since it cuts your mess, application/removal time by at least 75%. Also, nice job on making her prop. I have only seen 1 or 2 other girls who have bothered to have it. It really enhances the cosplay in my opinion :]
Gahhh I wanna cosplay kneesocks so bad! She is my favorite character in that anime!
The hands and the face were the only things that were painted. The rest is a zentai suit. I'd say despite not having a navel and barely visible seams, the zentai suit is the best route to take because you can sew everything in place (the stockings won't come down and the straps around the arms will stay in place) and you don't have to worry about body paint being uneven or rubbing off.
Hey, I have a question. One time, I bought body paint at Don's and the lady got me to buy this spray on stuff that's supposed to make the paint stick a lot better and not get on other people's clothes. I never ended up using the paint or the spray on stuff, but I'm wondering if you used something like that, or did the body paint stay on as well as it did without the extra stuff? Just wonder in case I ever need body paint again haha.
I used the body paint, then a clear powder (to make it more matte) then the sealant. It all sort of came off around the palms of my hands and by the end of the day, anything that touched something else or was rubbing up against something all day had completely wiped the paint off.
